Scriptures of the Underground

This is a school project which I made with a team. Influenced by the greek story of Persephony and hades we created a short playable demo. I was responsible for creating the vegetation and some UI elements. I was also tasked with implementing the art assets in the game engine and making sure it was ready to be placed in the environment. My main duty was also to make sure the Persephone statues were enriched with vegetation.
We created the demo in Unity.
The softwares I used were: Maya, Speedtree, Substance Designer, and photoshop.
We had 5 months the time to create the demo. All the while also receiving feedback from playtesters and mentors.

The persephony shrine is where the player reaches at the end of the demo. This is a huge area enriched by vegetation, it transitions from concrete vines to colorful vegetation. The different types of vegetation are Pine trees, Cherry blossom trees, and Vines with flowers and bushes. Throughout the demo, players would come across mini shrines of Persephone and these are also placed with vegetation. When the player gets closer the area lights up and leaves fall from the trees. We chose a Stylised style for this project as it fits our narrative storytelling better.
